Reaktor:3 is inspired by NASA's Discovery 7 mission to the planet Mercury. The spacecraft for this mission was aptly called the Messenger spacecraft and was outfitted with a variety of high tech equipment that provided the world with a better look at the first planet in our solar system. Specifically we are using a Matte Grey and Matte Gold which look very similar to the colors of the Mercury Laser Altimeter (MLA), a key component to measuring Mercury's topography (see images) and in key discoveries of Mercury's past. We've applied these colors to the Galaxie XL in a mixed combination where the cap and grip are one color and the body is the other. The combinations look amazing. Our new designer went out of her way to create an awesome sticker sheet with custom graphics and logo work. We've added these pieces to the Reaktor:3 release specifically due to the large volume of requests for this pen to be released individually. To differentiate from the Retrograde set, we've laser marked two logos on this release. The first is a clip logo of the Reaktor "Spaceship" logo with the numeral three centered below the spaceship. The second is on the bottom of the barrel and is the Reaktor "Atom" logo that has been marked overlapping the center faux finial.

The Reaktor pens have a unique surface/finish compared to our other pens. This finish is unique and the first time we have had pens done this way. Due to the amount of time spent tumbling and the more aggressive acid etch, there will be small surface marks and even some removal of aluminum grain on the grips. This will show up as swirls and small "moon craters" under the anodize. The look is completely unique to this finish and something we may do in future releases of the Reaktor line.
