In all the world, there is no other turquoise like that found in the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Mine of Globe, Arizona. The iconic brilliant blue of the turquoise found in this mine can be seen in jewelry stores around the globe, and this specific shade of blue is what all “turquoise” is measured against. Located in a mountain that many say looks like a sleeping woman with her arms crossed, the mine went by many names before acquiring its iconic moniker. One of the most prolific sources of turquoise throughout history, the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Mine finally closed in 2012, making these gemstones even more sought after. The colors of the stones range from a chalky robin’s egg blue to the near perfect, crisp sky blue reminiscent of ancient Persian blue. All shades are extremely sought after, and considered the pinnacle of quality in the gem industry.
Our spring Decograph Special Edition 1801 pays homage to the greatest turquoise mine in Arizona. The beautiful, crisp blue shines out, bringing to mind wonderful jewelry crafted from Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. A ribbon of black gives a feeling of movement even as it replicates the look of raw gems within the surface. The color is a truly unique shade of blue, perfect for turning heads and eliciting compliments. The 1801 – Sleeping Beauty Special Edition is limited to only 100 pieces, each elegantly laser marked on the barrel with sequential numbers.
