Camp Karas Series Special ReleaseOur fourth release in the Camp Karas Series of pens is the “Arizona Cypress” Ringed Retrakt V2. Most people think Arizona is nothing but desert, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Much of Arizona is covered in various forms of shrubs and even large trees. Both northern and southern Arizona have large swaths of mostly coniferous trees, though some deciduous trees can be found especially in the north of the state. The Arizona Cypress (Cupressus arizonica) is one of those coniferous evergreen trees. It’s mainly found in southern Arizona, along the Arizona-Mexico border. This particular cypress has become a favorite ornamental tree due to is hearty nature and ability to resist certain types of fungi that can be deadly to certain types of ornamental cypress trees. The beautiful green foliage with a conic to ovoid-conic crown and capable of growing over 80 feet in height. They are an amazing sight when escaping the heat of the valley and travelling to cooler climes down by Mount Lemmon.
The "Arizona Cypress" Ringed Retrakt V2 is a highly polished ringed Retrakt V2 that we’ve anodized in a dark green that has amazing color but allows the polished aluminum to brighten the color. We've laser marked the clip with our Camp Karas logo in a subtle soft white mark. The laser marked badge is a small cluster of three coniferous evergreen trees, much like the Arizona Cypress. The pen ships with a Schmidt SRC5888 ceramic rollerball refill, which provides a smooth, constant flow of black ink perfect for taking notes while bird watching or writing your own treatise about the benefits of nature. Each pen will also ship with the official Camp Karas standard sticker, a rectangular off white vinyl sticker with Camp Karas on the left and a rough outline of a coniferous tree on the right.
