Limited Edition
Cerakote has quickly become a popular and versatile finish on our pens. The ever-growing catalog of colors, and ability to customize the surface treatment makes it a great way to get unique looking designs and finishes on metal pens that some might call boring canvases for colors and finishes. We’re moving further and further into the “Distressed” finishes which began with bronze distressed with black and expanded to several colors for our Halloween releases. We’ve also expanded to include many of the more fringe colors Cerakote has to offer, but for our 16th Anniversary we’ve landed on two of the most popular colors Cerakote sells; the H series Sniper Grey (H-234) and the Elite series Fire (E-310). The Sniper Grey will be available on standard releases to the website, the Fire is reserved for our final 2024 Pen Club Exclsuive/XVI Anniversary Tie-Ins.
The XVI Anniversary Pocket Modal is our new pint-size powerhouse, the Pocket Modal featuring professionally applied Sniper Grey (H-234) Cerakote. Sniper Grey is a “very dark grey with a slight blue tint” according to Cerakote; I would say the blue is only discernible in certain light situations and the dark grey is very uniform and not shiny at all. We chose this color on the advise of our Cerakote applicator after he looked at our shop colors and noticed how close this matches the grey we prefer. Matte Dark Red anodize was specially sourced for the clip and button with a black Delrin slider that ties the entire pen together. This is our 16th anniversary, and all of our releases this year come in batches of 16, making this one of our lowest volume Limited Editions to date. Ships with a Schmidt P8126 refill with black ink.

While considering how best to allow for the standard Parker style ballpoint refill to be used with the Modal functionality, we debated on whether to simply offer an adapter kit or to go further and have a separate pen. In the long run, we decided to do both because we realized the separate pen could be a smaller pocket pen that was still balanced well and super functional. We used the EDK lower barrels which allows for the use of the traditional Parker style ballpoint refills and the Schmidt P8126/7 refills which are popular liquid ink refill option. This pen is nearly 0.5 inches shorter than the standard Modal, but still fits comfortably in the hand. It’s even easier to carry in a pocket with the pocket carry clip. And it will feature a similar material and color scheme as our EDK pens use, primarily tumbled finishes and matte anodize.
