Special Release
First released in 2019, the fluted grip profile has become the most popular of the non-standard grip profiles we use on our retractable pens. Even though this profile is popular, we rotate through a select few anodized aluminum color combinations and primarily release the copper and brass versions with a heavy tumbled finish. There may be a VERY small amount of polished brass and copper fluted Bolts in the wild, most of those were sold at pen shows, Instagram sales, to the Pen Club, or directly from the shop. This marks our first official polished Brass Fluted Bolt release via the website.
The Brass Fluted Bolt is our standard Bolt action retractable pen with a fluted brass lower body, a combination of two of our most popular customizations: fluted grip and brass. The bodies are fresh off the machine, hand-sanded to remove any leftover burrs or marks, then tumble polished in a mild acid with ceramic media before being put through a second tumble polishing process with a temporary sealant. We then inspect, assemble with stainless steel hardware, and hand shine each pen before bagging them up with a black Pilot G2 refill.
Limited Availability
The Brass Fluted Bolt is made from C360 BRass on our CNC lathes and Swiss machining centers, in Mesa, Arizona. Pilot G2 refills are manufactured by Pilot Pens in Japan.
