2022 Retraktable Re-Launch Production Release
Based on our Retrakt pen, the Frag Retraktable is our special release mechanical pencil featuring a Schmidt DSM 2007 steel mechanical pencil insert. The Frag Retraktable standard is an alternate grip profile to the Ringed Retraktable standard based on our Mk II grip profile that was added to our EDK and Bolt pens over the last two years. This has become the grip section profile of 2022 with us expanding it to almost all of our pens. The Brass and Copper Frag Retraktable pencils are the pinnacles of this project, and the reason for this full re-launch. For this release, we machined small batches of Frag Retraktable lower grips, upper bodies, and the two-piece button mechanism from either C360 brass or Tellurium copper. These are meant to be paired with our Retrakt V2 pens as complementary writing instruments, only with a little added copper and brass. The Frag Retraktable is intended for a little extra grip when you’re out and about or if you really like something with a bit more of an aggressive look. Proof that you can have elegance and durability in a premium pen.
The Copper Frag Retraktable Standard is one of our two premium special release options for the Retraktable. This pencil features a body fully machined from Tellurium copper, the standard copper used in all of our pens. The Mk II (Frag) grip has become our grip profile of 2022, and we’ve added it to almost all of our writing instruments. The two-piece push button mechanism has also been machined from Tellurium copper, polished to a brilliant shine, hand assembled, and tested for full functionality. When checking out you’ll have the option to select from a 0.5mm or 0.7mm lead insert thread-in mechanism. Each pencil comes with a Pentel Hi-Polymer Eraser which we find to be one of the best erasers on the market, and rather than engineering some eraser-pocket on the pencil with a nearly unusable eraser we’d simply provide you with a quality eraser.
