Brand New Cerakote Colorway
We’ve gone and done it again. A brand new Cerakote colorway that’s a trip down memory lane. Inspired by the black light posters you could find in the local mall at stores like Spencer’s, the Dark Mode Jawbreaker is a new splatter effect that flips the Jawbreaker on it’s head. We had our Cerakote applicator swap the base white color with a matte black, then he used Prison Pink, Hunter Orange, and Parakeet Green to create a splatter effect that POPS!
The Dark Mode Jawbreaker INK fountain pen is our flagship fountain pen featuring this latest Cerakote technique unlike any fountain pen you’ll find on the market. Our Cerakote applicator has put on a uniform coat of Armor Black (H-190) and over that has sprayed a layered, splatter of Hunter Orange (H-128), Prison Pink (H-141), and Parakeet Green (H-331) creating a brand new look that’s kind of reminiscent of the Jawbreaker mixed with a black light poster. We’re excited for this treatment in part because it looks REALLY awesome but also feels great with the finish providing added texture to the Cerakote. We’re pairing them with black anodized grips and clips and black fasteners. Select from a variety of nib sizes when you checkout. This is the latest experimentation with our Cerakote applicator and the initial batch of pens is very small.
Limited Availability
The INK is made from 6061-T aluminum on our CNC lathes and Swiss machining centers, in Mesa, Arizona. Schmidt and Bock manufacture their products in Germany. Monteverde cartridges are made in Austria.
The INK, our flagship fountain pen, has gone through numerous iterations since it’s initial design in 2013, some things have remained the same. Pen reviewers used descriptions such as, “tank-like construction”, “ultimate pen”, “unique and stylish with just a hint of bad-ass”, and “an excellent addition to any writing arsenal”, and through all the engineering changes and adjustments, we managed to retain the elements that make up the core DNA of the INK. Some call it industrial and minimalist, which later became everyday carry (EDC) and indestructible; our mindset at the time was maximizing function and form on a machined fountain pen that “felt” like a Karas Kustoms product. The result was, and still is, a pen that really stands out. Even as fountain pens have exploded in popularity with thousands of new pens and pen designs hitting the market, the INK fits in an aesthetic and utilitarian category all it’s own.
The INK is a full-sized, machined fountain pen that comes in aluminum, brass, and copper. The grip sections are available in several finish and material options so you can customize your pen even more. The thread-on cap uses triple-start threads to securely attach itself to the pen and to allow the removal of the cap with only 1.5 revolutions. The new Sta-Fast cap features an internal silicone o-ring near the threads that seats on a machined flat just past the grip section, and provides a secure, tight fit that keeps the cap from coming unscrewed when pocket carried. Our latest iteration of this pen now includes a fully machined aluminum clip that is anodized in matching colors to the pen bodies. Each pen is designed and machined, by us, here in the USA.
