Primal Day Two Special Release

We’ve chosen Primal Day Two for a brand new colorway release, Blush & Brass. This new colorway features a new Cerakote color, Blush (H-321) with brass hardware, and the pairing of those two is absolutely exceptional. You’ll not find a lot of pens that look like this.

The Blush & Brass Pocket Modal Limited Release is our original smaller Modal featuring the standard ringed EDK lower profile. Our Cerakote applicator has put on a beautiful coat of Blush (H-321) that is described as a “warm pink tone with a beautiful metallic shimmer.”, think rose-gold only a little on the pinker side and less on the gold side. We have a hard time sourcing pink, but this was an option for a similar color that we hadn’t tested before. The coating provides shimmer but is still “soft” that’s the best way to describe it. Besides the color, this feels amazing to the touch with a tactile feel that isn’t aggressive. This colorway is quite nice and is a good option for someone who enjoys rose gold or some of the similar colors used on cellphones and other accessories. The brass hardware brings out the shine in the Cerakote without making it too “bright”. The pen ships with a black Schmidt P8126 refill. Cerakote is known for the highest-rated hardness, flexibility, and durability for ceramic coatings in the industry.

The Pocket Modal is made from 6061-T aluminum on our CNC lathes and Swiss machining centers, in Mesa, Arizona. Schmidt refills are manufactured in Germany.

While considering how best to allow for the standard Parker style ballpoint refill to be used with the Modal functionality, we debated on whether to simply offer an adapter kit or to go further and have a separate pen. In the long run, we decided to do both because we realized the separate pen could be a smaller pocket pen that was still balanced well and super functional. We used the EDK lower barrels which allows for the use of the traditional Parker style ballpoint refills and the Schmidt P8126/7 refills which are popular liquid ink refill option. This pen is nearly 0.5 inches shorter than the standard Modal, but still fits comfortably in the hand. It’s even easier to carry in a pocket with the pocket carry clip. And it will feature a similar material and color scheme as our EDK pens use, primarily tumbled finishes and matte anodize.
