PART 1 of the 2021 HALLOWEEN COLLECTION
Every year we try to do something special for Halloween. No tricks from us, we’re in the business of only putting out treats this time of year. 2021 is a little different because we planned ahead. The plan is a three pen “collection” of sorts with custom Cerakote that’s been distressed. This look is fantastic and gives a kind of “raised from the dead” look. Read on for specifics on each pen.
The Putrid Pumpkin Fluted Bolt V2 is the first release of our Halloween 2021 Collection. Expertly applied orange Cerakote over a tumbled aluminum base pen is then distressed with a thin coat of black Cerakote that is only partially baked on the orange Cerakote. A stripping agent is then applied to non-uniformly remove the black Cerakote leaving a distressed orange Fluted Bolt that looks like an old carved pumpkin sitting outside that creepy haunted house down the street. The flutes perfectly catch the black Cerakote while the orange is just vibrant enough to look cool. We’ve used a matte black anodized clip and knob for this release with black Torx+ screws for the clip, and a black socket head screw for the knob. Gee, our designer, has put together a super spooky sticker sheet for the Halloween Collection a corresponding sticker for each of the three pens, and a bonus “drawn-in-blood” Karas Pen Co logo sticker. The pen ships with a black Pilot G2 refill. Cerakote is known for the highest-rated hardness, flexibility, and durability for ceramic coatings in the industry.

*Cerakote is a temperature-cured, spray-on ceramic coating that is used in a variety of industries including automotive, defense, outdoors, and sports. While Cerakote has been tested and rated at the highest levels of hardness, corrosion resistance, flexibility, and heat; it is not nearly as durable as anodize. Like all coatings, Cerakote can and will naturally wear when carried against objects of a similar or greater hardness than the Cerakote. Cerakote can chip or crack if dropped onto hard surfaces. Be advised this surface finish will wear over time, and is not as resistant to wear or damage as our standard anodize.
The Bolt V2 is made from 6061-T aluminum on our CNC lathes and Swiss machining centers, in Mesa, Arizona. Pilot refills are manufactured in Japan.
