Limited Release
The Vertex is the second release in our Signature Series which is built around using plastics and other resins as the main parts of the pen. From the beginning, we wanted to create something that looked, felt and functioned differently than other pens on the market. We wanted a smooth transition from grip to barrel, so we moved the traditional breakpoint from the section back, and used a third o-ring in the cap adapted slip cap functionality for the pen. The longer grip section allows for the use of an “ink window” with transparent materials which adds a little flair to the pen. The Vertex looks and feels streamlined and aerodynamic. With soft tapers, a cigar-shaped body, and a concave cap top; the Vertex is at once futuristic but also reminiscent of the classic lines of Parker and Sheaffer pens. After a few years of perfecting the Vertex, we’re now expanding into non-resin materials with the launch of the aluminum Vertex Special Release pens.
The Silver Ringed Vertex Limited Release fountain pen is the first machined adaptation of our aluminum Vertex pens. Josh decided to machine detail rings into the cap and body specifically on the tapered surfaces. These rings are relatively minor, aesthetic in nature, and give the pen a different look. We decided to anodize all of these pens with a clear coat to show off the inherent brilliance of machined aluminum along with the rings. The new aluminum Vertex retains most of the the original resin Vertex capabilities with a few changes. This pen utilizes the same grip sections and o-rings making the Vertex now standardized in both resin and metal. The Vertex is a great capped rollerball pen with its clean lines and easy snap cap, it’s almost as quick to deploy as a retractable pen. When we started looking at the aluminum Vertex, black was the second color we thought of to really launch this version of the pen. Silver will likely be a color we do in limited quantities on the aluminum Vertex for a variety of reasons, and this small batch is even more limited in numbers due to running out of barstock when machining the bodies. Ideally, this pen is meant to have the matching anodized aluminum grip (silver), but we’re also allowing you to choose from black anodized aluminum or red anodized aluminum, OR any of our Makrolon grip sections. Ships in our recyclable packaging with a custom vinyl sticker. Customize it further with your choice of rollerball tips in black, silver, brass, or copper; the brass is a great combination with the brass anodize. Comes standard with a Pilot G2 refill with black ink. G2 refills are manufactured in Japan. Each pen is designed and machined, by us, in the USA.
