Special Edition – 75 Pens Available

“Antirrhinum majus, the common snapdragon (often – especially in horticulture – simply “snapdragon”), is a species of flowering plant belonging to the genus Antirrhinum. The plant was placed in the family Plantaginaceae following a revision of its prior classical family, Scrophulariaceae. The common name “snapdragon”, originates from the flowers’ reaction to having their throats squeezed, which causes the “mouth” of the flower to snap open like a dragon’s mouth. It is widely used as an ornamental plant in borders and as a cut flower. It is perennial but usually cultivated as an annual plant. The species has been in culture since the 15th century.” Source – Wikipedia

The Snapdragon Vertex Special Release is the latest Vertex special release featuring premium European resin. We’ve secured this iridescent pink shot through with silver and white chatoyance from Turner’s Workshop who sourced this acrylate from the Omas stock that was sold when the company closed. This material is very similar to the Omas Rose Swirl material except it features a vibrant, brilliant pink with silvery-white swirls throughout and even some small clear areas. The name draws on the common snapdragon which comes in a variety of colors but can often be found in a brilliant pink shade that we thought was quite similar to the pink in this pen. When you select your grip option you’ll be given the opportunity to select from transparent and translucent acrylic and polycarbonate options in light (“coke” bottle) green, mint, purple, smoke, or teal; allowing you to customize your pen a little more.

The Vertex is our second release in our Signature Series which is built around using plastics and other resins as the main parts of the pen. From the beginning, we wanted to create something that looked, felt, and functioned differently than other pens on the market. The Vertex’s basic design is that of a classic eyedropper pocket fountain pen, however, it will also accept a standard international cartridge or standard international converter if you’re disinclined to use it as an eyedropper. It functions with only four parts: a cap, barrel, grip, and nib. Simply add ink to the reservoir, and you can happily write pages of notes before you need to refill. Eyedropper pens can be tricky and messy, and we wanted to eliminate some of those concerns. During the engineering phase, we implemented designs of custom fit o-rings to eliminate the need for silicone grease to seal the grip and nib areas. We wanted a smooth transition from grip to barrel, so we moved the traditional breakpoint from the section back, and using a third o-ring in the cap adapted slip cap functionality for the pen. The longer grip section allows for the use of an “ink window” with transparent materials which adds a little flair to the pen. The Vertex looks and feels streamlined and aerodynamic. With soft tapers, a cigar-shaped body, and a concave cap top; the Vertex is at once futuristic but also reminiscent of the classic lines of Parker and Sheaffer pens. The Vertex is the latest step in our Design.History.Technology influenced Signature Series.

Ships in a machined aluminum box we have designed specifically for the Vertex fountain pen, custom foam inserts have been sourced for the box, and the lid has been logo’d on the outside with the Vertex logo while the inside of the lid is custom marked with instructions on filling and care of the pen. Comes standard with a Bock polished steel nib, with upgrades in titanium, and 14k gold when in stock. The #6 nibs units are manufactured by Peter Bock in Germany. Also included with each pen is a 2 ml soft pipette and a Schmidt K5 international standard converter. Each pen is designed and machined, by us, in the USA.
