Sometimes you’re left with just a few random items at the end of a production run, this release is the result of one of those instances. With CUBE pen holders, we frequently have multiple CUBEs damaged during transport, anodize, or Cerakote. They can easily get big dings or dents and at the end of a run, we have nine or ten damaged cubes and have just enough for a really small run of some color. We decided to do the final batch of nine Pocket CUBEs in Northern Lights (H-315) Cerakote and blow them out before the end of the year.
The Northern Lights Pocket CUBE is our latest CUBE iteration with large milled center “pocket” featuring professionally applied Northern Lights (H-315) Cerakote. Northern Lights is a “stunning color-changing navy blue that transforms into a greenish teal with glistening gold metallics” according to Cerakote; a very apt description of this color it does shift between those two colors all while maintaining a flat finish. This Pocket CUBE will match the Northern Lights pens we released earlier this year, and look amazing while sitting on your desk. We’ve chosen black Delrin inserts for this and of course the rubber bumper feet to keep it stable on your desk.
The Pocket CUBE is made from 6061-T aluminum on our CNC mills in Mesa, Arizona.
Each “Pocket” CUBE is machined from a solid block of 6061 aluminum and features 6 black Delrin inserts, rubber feet, custom surface finishing, and high-quality engraving. We are currently only offering the raw machined version of the “Pocket” CUBE; we may add tumbled versions in the future. The custom-machined inserts are pressed into the body of the CUBE and have a bore of 9/16” to accommodate most pens. The machined pocket is 2.5 inches long, 2.5 inches deep, and 1 inch wide. We’ve machined it in such a way that the pocket is chamfered and smooth inside to eliminate any sharp corners or burrs. The rubber feet keep the CUBE from sliding around and slightly elevate it from the surface it rests on, giving it the illusion of weightlessness, however, the “Pocket” CUBE does in fact weigh around 1.85 lbs. This insures that your pens will be safe from being accidentally knocked over, or rolling off a desk. Each pen is separated and will not knock into each other, causing unwanted damage. Plus, you can safely display your pens and business cards in a unique and organized fashion.
