We’ve been asked to release more Cerakote Pocket Modals, and now that we have several grip profile options we’re expanding to include those options. The Dragonskin was next up to feature another Cerakote options, just in time for this latest HOT color that came in. When we saw this new color, Blaze (FX-101), we immediately knew it would be featured on the Fluted Bolt at the earliest opportunity.
The August Blaze Dragonskin Pocket Modal Limited Release features the dragonskin grip on our smallest pen, the Pocket Modal. It features a uniform coat of the new Blaze Cerakote which is described as a deep, ruby-red pearl. That’s an understatement on the look of this finish. This is a color that mimics the heavy metallics found in auto paint. It’s looks wet and sparkly with a deep, dark rub red color. Our Cerakote applicator accomplished this by laying down a coat of Armor Black and then using a Cerakote clearcoat mixed with the metallic particulate that creates this unique color. You won’t see this type of color from any other application that will look this good while retaining some hardness and durability. For this release we’ve selected the standard black anodized clip and button with a black Delrin slider. The pen ships with a black Schmidt P8126 refill. Cerakote is known for the highest-rated hardness, flexibility, and durability for ceramic coatings in the industry.
