Northern Lights Render K Limited Release
- Description
Description
We are working through the K Series pens, releasing them here and there and in the process testing new colors of Cerakote or returning to fan favorite colors. The idea is to give the K Series one last hurrah, as it were. Amazing colors some that you might never see again, on our original pen, the one that started this crazy journey. The latest batch of Cerakote pens have returned from the applicator and boy are there some amazing colors. We have a brand new color to highlight, and it has our full attention. Going out on a limb, we paged through all of the shades of blue on the Cerakote website. We had already decided to give Blue Titanium a try, but we also saw the color Northern Lights (H-315) and were quite intrigued on how this color would look on our pens. Cerakote describes Northern Lights as “a stunning color-changing navy blue that transforms into a greenish teal with glistening gold metallics” and that is exactly the result when these pens showed back up at the shop. Not only is the color amazing, the finish is amazingly flat with no gloss or slipperiness, this makes the texture of the pen very grippable and allows the metallic to peek through in certain lights, but not “glow”.
The Northern Light Render K Limited Edition is a limited release Render K with Northern Lights (H-315) professionally applied to these pens. Expertly applied, the uniform finish is an awesome dusty navy blue that shifts to a gold-tinged teal when exposed to certain lights and at different angles. We haven’t seen a Cerakote color like this, even though the Blue Titanium and Cranberry Frost were similar, this is a completely new and interesting effect. These look awesome and feel great, no slippery surface on them at all or any shine. We’re pairing them with polished brass grip sections that highlights and accents the gold metallic in the blue Cerakote. Ships with a black Pilot G2 refill.
*Cerakote is a temperature-cured, spray-on ceramic coating that is used in a variety of industries including automotive, defense, outdoors, and sports. While Cerakote has been tested and rated at the highest levels of hardness, corrosion resistance, flexibility, and heat; it is not nearly as durable as anodize. Like all coatings, Cerakote can and will naturally wear when carried against objects of a similar or greater hardness than the Cerakote. Cerakote can chip or crack if dropped onto hard surfaces. Be advised this surface finish will wear over time, and is not as resistant to wear or damage as our standard anodize.
