Though it’s rare, sometimes an o-ring on one of our pens will come free or break. Now you can easily get a replacement for that missing or broken o-ring. We’re offering specific o-ring kits for all of our pens, with a link to a relatively inexpensive “tool” to help you install the o-ring.
This kit is for the Vertex & Metal Decograph fountain and rollerball pens. The Vertex has a machined groove near the halfway point inside the cap. This groove captures a custom-made tri-point silicone o-ring that captures the grip section in a “snap-cap” style fixture. The Metal Decograph features a machined groove just past the internal cap threads that captures the same custom-made tri-point silicone o-ring which tightens on the body of the Decograph when the cap and body are threaded together. These o-rings are NOT standard-sized o-rings though they are modified from an 11mm o-ring, they feature a special tri-point style that allows air flow when capping and uncapping the pen to alleviate pressurization or vacuum of the ink collection device. This kit contains five (5) clear custom-made tri-point silicone o-rings.
We install these o-rings in our facility with the aid of THESE tools, by primarily using the flat of the pick or scraper and gently pressing the o-ring into the groove. It takes a few tries but should pop in without using much force or the pointy ends of the tools.
