Modal Production Release
Much like we've done with the Bolt, we're changing things up with our production Modal rollerball releases, we're letting YOU choose the grip profile you prefer with the corresponding anodize color. Not only can you choose the original Smooth grip, you'll also have access to this classic colorway in Dragonskin, Fluted, and MK II (Frag). We've never offered those grips in a standard colorway option before, and we may never offer them this way in the future, but for this 2026 Production Modal release, these are the available options. You'll also be able to select from four different refill options. The tried-and-true black Pilot G2 rollerball version is back, along with the black Schmidt easyFLOW 9000 ballpoint refill; but we've added the black Monteverde Gel ballpoint refills in Extra Fine and Fine as options because so many of you asked.
The production release of the Modal features a variety of "bright dip" Type II anodized aluminum colors with silver anodized clips and buttons and black Delrin sliders. The body, clip, slider, and button are designed and manufactured in our facility in Mesa, Arizona. With our new updated Parker adapter, you can now select either the Pilot G2 or Parker style refills with this pen. The Parker adapter is a machined Delrin adapter with a recess to capture the rear "fins" of the refill while the opposite end of the adapter is captured in the internal Delrin slider. This provides stability and eliminates lateral refill movement.

Lifetime Warranty
We offer a comprehensive Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects on parts and pieces we manufacture in-house. We also offer a Lifetime Service & Repair option requiring the customer send their item in to us and in most cases we will repair items free of charge. If an item is deemed as being damaged due to negligence, a charge may be applied to repair the item and we will contact the customer in those circumstances. Items not manufactured by us MAY have a limited warranty, please contact us for questions via the contact form.
A New Darkhorse
Our latest addition is our take on the traditional bolt-action pen with a side button and deep-pocket clip. The Modal took over half a decade to bring to fruition with so many iterations along the way, we didn't know if it would ever make it to production. Our initial sketches for this pen go back to 2018, and Josh created a crude prototype in early 2019. Those pens look nothing like the finished product, and it took a lot of thinking outside the box to finally get the version of the Modal you see today. The upper body of this pen is one of the most intricate and time-consuming pieces we've ever designed. The upper body and clip went through six separate engineering changes from launch until the design was finalized in 2025. Externally the pens look nearly identical with the current production models being 1/8" longer than the original. The Modal is on pace to overtake the Bolt for our bestselling pen just a few years into its existence. Currently we're updating standardized versions for late-2026 release as well as planning out a full slate of special and limited releases through early-2027.
Previous Releases
We specialize in producing unique and interesting limited and special release small batch products to ensure we have something for everyone. We partner with an ever-expanding group of artists and professionals to provide versions of our pens that range from hand-engraved to force patinated to hand-painted. Small batches range from 10 to 30 units some will never see a second release.
