Black Bolt Pen
The latest version of our most popular pen, the Bolt, has arrived. Back to the original colorway featuring a gloss anodize body paired with a silver anodized knob and stainless steel clip and fasteners, it looks just like the Kickstarter version we released over a decade ago. BUT we've made one big change for this production release, we're offering four grip profile options. Not only can you choose the original Smooth grip, you'll also have access to this classic colorway in Dragonskin, Fluted, and MK II (Frag). We've never offered those grips in a standard colorway option before, and we may never offer them this way in the future, but for this 2026 Production Bolt release, these are the available options. You'll also be able to select from four different refill options. The tried-and-true black Pilot G2 rollerball version is back, along with the black Schmidt easyFLOW 9000 ballpoint refill; but we've added the black Monteverde Gel ballpoint refills in Extra Fine and Fine as options because so many of you asked.
The Bolt is our most popular pen, designed around the traditional bolt-action mechanism that locks the refill in place, we took a slight deviation and added a thumb-actuated knob on the top instead of the large side button/screw. Over time the Bolt has gone through multiple engineering revisions but the overall external design has remained the same. The latest version feature a rounded J-slot that allows for smooth actuation, two-piece body composition with an internal o-ring to keep the pen from unthreading while pocket carried, and the ability to be customized for EITHER a 110mm rollerball or a Parker style ballpoint with an internal, threaded spacer kit and spring swap. The customer chooses the initial setup when purchasing, but if at any time down the road you feel like swapping you can purchase one of our Bolt Conversion Kits (Parker or Pilot) to change it up.

Lifetime Warranty
We offer a comprehensive Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects on parts and pieces we manufacture in-house. We also offer a Lifetime Service & Repair option requiring the customer send their item in to us and in most cases we will repair items free of charge. If an item is deemed as being damaged due to negligence, a charge may be applied to repair the item and we will contact the customer in those circumstances. Items not manufactured by us MAY have a limited warranty, please contact us for questions via the contact form.

The Bolt wasn't our first pen, but it was the pen that changed everything in terms of machined writing instruments. From the Bolt Kickstarter campaign's massive success all the way up until today, the Bolt has remained our bestselling pen. Whether it's the unique style of the bolt-action combined with an easy-to-operate knob, the comfortable size, or the unique combinations of materials and colors; the Bolt is the pen that most people who've never seen our pens gravitate to. We continue to experiment with the Bolt to keep it fresh, most recently expanding to add a huge variety of machined grip profile options, like the Hive and Dragonskin pictured. Previous Releases
We specialize in producing unique and interesting limited and special release small batch products to ensure we have something for everyone. We partner with an ever-expanding group of artists and professionals to provide versions of our pens that range from hand-engraved to force patinated to hand-painted. Small batches range from 10 to 30 units some will never see a second release.
