Cerakote Release

We're officially on Batch #3 of the Mother of Pearl Cerakote Series. The Mother of Pearl finish was initially an experiment Aaron did with a light coat of FX series metallic over a white base coat, using primarily FX Mardi Gras which features purple-to-green color shift metallic. He changed the coating a bit during Batch #2 (second experimental coat), he added additional metallic into the final coat and sprayed it heavier, creating the appearance of a slight darkening of the base white which gave the appearance of slightly aged ivory. For Batch #3, he brightened the white back up, and added a final coat of gloss clear to the finish which makes everything POP. The color shift from purple through pink to green is still present and in certain light, all of the metallic is stripped away leaving a bright white pen.

The Mother of Pearl Dragonskin EDK is closer to our first release of this finish, a true MoP without the aged look of Ivory. The base coat of white is nice and even, providing an amazing canvas for the metallic FX Cerakote. Aaron has outdone himself with his application process, moving through test batches to get the best mix of the different FX metallics to get a blend of color shift that comes through on this pen. Red, pink, green, orange, purple, almost the whole spectrum of color shift is present depending on the type of light and angle. These are really incredible, very hard to photograph, but stunning in hand. The best part, this type of multi-coat process leaves a nice texture on the pens so they aren't slippery when writing. Includes a Schmidt P8126 refill with black ink.
