Holiday ’24 Limited Release
Initially designed in 2009, the Aluminum Speedster was a collaborative desktop accessory we made in conjunction with Griot’s Garage. As we fulfilled the initial production run for Griot’s Garage, we also released our own line of the Speedster. The Speedsters sold slowly, and when time came for us to look at making a second batch Griot’s Garage was no longer interested in the Speedster, and we still had quite a few of our own on hand. Throughout 2013 and 2014, we sold through the majority of our stock and had shifted into the pen making business with great success. In 2015, we made the difficult decision to discontinue the OG Speedster design. BUT it was resurrected in 2019 when Josh began tweaking the size and Bill redesigned the wheel fittings. Today, we present the latest Speedster V2, this one is perfect for someone’s stocking, even if they haven’t been naughty this year.
The Karas Koal Speedster V2 is our latest iteration of the Speedster V2 with a new finish added before anodize. The body of the Speedster V2 is milled from 6061-T aluminum, in a multi-step process before being sandblasted and then anodized matte black. The effect of the sandblasting before anodize has created a dusty black look that is VERY reminiscent of a lump of coal. With the holidays on the way, we figured this was the perfect name for this Speedster. The wheels are machined on our lathes from 6061-T aluminum, after which, we’ve cleaned, deburred them, and anodized them matte black as well . The original Speedster had our Karas Kustoms shield machined into the right-rear quarter panel, partially hidden by the wheel. For this Limited Release we’ve opted to laser mark the bottom of the car with “KARAS KOAL” in our art deco font, with “NOVEMBER 2024” lasered below that in a racing stripe. This is the production date code for this release, though we don’t know when or if we will repeat this release in the future. Ships in bubble wrap, in a small box.

The Speedster V2 is made from 6061-T aluminum on our CNC mills and lathes, in Mesa, Arizona.
The Speedster V2 is 4.65 inches from wheel-to-wheel (4.25″ body length) and weighs 0.65 pounds. The wheel system for the Cerakote and custom-painted versions features thread-in on axles that do move, as opposed to the version we released in Meteor Grey which did not roll. This may cause some wear on the Cerakote at the base of the wheels, but we had a lot of comments requesting rolling wheels, so we changed it. The body of the Speedster V2 is milled from 6061-T aluminum, in a multi-step process before being sand blasted. The wheels are machined on our lathes from 6061-T aluminum, after which time we’ve cleaned and deburred them.
