Introducing the first Pen Show Small Batch release we’ve ever done, a custom blend of colors created in-house by our own resin-pouring technician, Zoe. We created these pens for the 2022 pen shows we planned on attending, and the remainder of them are being offered on our website. This release is limited in number and will not be recreated at a future date.
The D3N-5F0-DC4 Small Batch Vertex is a curated colorway that consists of a white base, two shades of green, and a red all mixed together in varying amounts to ensure every pen has a unique look. The idea was a pen that would look like a flowering plant that had red, pink, or white flowers, and the greens would bring to mind the different shades of green in the stems and leaves. Zoe captured this look perfectly, even adding mica to one of the greens that makes it look shiny, just like leaves after a morning shower. This is a truly unique design, one we thought would be a nice addition to the three pens shows we attended this year. The finished pens were quite popular at the shows, but we made sure to make a double batch initially and the remainder, while limited in quantity has been reserved for a website release. When you check out select from six different grip sections options: Coke Bottle transparent, Dark Green transparent, Mint translucent, Red Transparent, Smoke transparent, and Teal translucent. You’ll also have the option to select from a variety of steel nibs, with titanium upgrades available. Ships in our machined Vertex box with lasered Small Batch D3N-5F0-DC4 lid.
The Vertex is the second release in our Signature Series which is built around using plastics and other resins as the main parts of the pen. From the beginning, we wanted to create something that looked, felt and functioned differently than other pens on the market. The Vertex’s basic design is that of a classic eyedropper pocket fountain pen. It functions with only four parts: a cap, barrel, grip, and nib. Simply add ink to the reservoir, and you can happily write pages of notes before you need to refill. Eyedropper pens can be tricky and messy, and we wanted to eliminate some of those concerns. During the engineering phase, we implemented designs of custom-fit o-rings to eliminate the need for silicone grease to seal the grip and nib areas. We wanted a smooth transition from grip to barrel, so we moved the traditional breakpoint from the section back, and using a third o-ring in the cap adapted slip cap functionality for the pen. The longer grip section allows for the use of an “ink window” with transparent materials which adds a little flair to the pen. The Vertex looks and feels streamlined and aerodynamic with soft tapers, a cigar-shaped body, and a concave cap top; the Vertex is at once futuristic and reminiscent of the classic lines of Parker and Sheaffer pens. Comes standard with a Bock polished steel nib, with upgrades in titanium and 14k gold when in stock. The #6 nibs units are manufactured by Peter Bock in Germany. Also included with each pen is a 2 ml soft pipette and 2 black Monteverde ink cartridges. Each pen is designed and machined, by us, in the USA.
