Description

Cerakote has quickly become a popular and versatile finish on our pens. The ever-growing catalog of colors, and ability to customize the surface treatment makes it a great way to get unique looking designs and finishes on metal pens that some might call boring canvases for colors and finishes. We’re moving further and further into the “Distressed” finishes which began with bronze distressed with black and expanded to several colors for our Halloween releases. We plan to further expand this sub-series to include a variety of base colors distressed with black, and eventually change the distressing color as well.

Welcome to a brand new Cerakote collaboration Bolt V2 Special Release. This is a triple-layer Cerakote starting with Meteor Grey base coat, a Fire Red second coat that is partially distressed, and the third coat is clear with a very fine silver mica. The final look is a new one with a slight shine from the mica that accentuates both the red and the grey. A completely unique look and feel, this one has been described as having a surface that is even more tactile and “grippy” than our other Cerakote finishes, making it perfect for long writing sessions or EDC use. This release has been paired with matte anodized knobs and clips with our black fasteners. The pen ships with a black Pilot G2 refill. Cerakote is known for the highest-rated hardness, flexibility, and durability for ceramic coatings in the industry.

*Cerakote is a temperature-cured, spray-on ceramic coating that is used in a variety of industries including automotive, defense, outdoors, and sports. While Cerakote has been tested and rated at the highest levels of hardness, corrosion resistance, flexibility, and heat; it is not nearly as durable as anodize. Like all coatings, Cerakote can and will naturally wear when carried against objects of a similar or greater hardness than the Cerakote. Cerakote can chip or crack if dropped onto hard surfaces. Be advised this surface finish will wear over time, and is not as resistant to wear or damage as our standard anodize.

The Bolt V2 is made from 6061-T aluminum on our CNC lathes and Swiss machining centers, in Mesa, Arizona. Pilot refills are manufactured in Japan.
