The Bolt V2 keeps the unique look of our original design but improves the usability and functionality for a truly superior writing experience. A smooth bolt-action system is maximized with the use of a knob and bolt-capture system. A perfect everyday carry pen that requires minimal maintenance and is available in aluminum, brass, copper, and now bronze. Fully machined and US-made in our shop in Mesa, Arizona.
The Bolt was our first retractable pen and second pen that we released via Kickstarter, way back in the day. Over the years, we’ve made minor design changes to increase the functionality of all of our pens, but the Bolt V2 was our first to have multiple design changes applied in one iteration, thus necessitating the “V2” addition. The Bolt V2 features a standardized length for both the ballpoint and rollerball versions. The movement of our J-slot up towards the top of the pen allowed for more internal clearance and with a few tweaks we perfected just the right shape of the slot making actuation effortless. With the addition of an o-ring on the lower body, the Bolt V2 will no longer come unscrewed when it’s pocket-carried. Available in a variety of aluminum finish options as well as raw brass, bronze, and copper, there’s a Bolt V2 for everyone. Ships in our recyclable packaging with a vinyl Karas Pen Co sticker.
The Bolt V2 is made from 6061-T6 aluminum, C-360 Brass, C630 Bronze and Tellurium Copper on our CNC lathes and Swiss machining centers, in Mesa, Arizona. Pilot G2 refills are manufactured by Pilot Pens in Japan. Schmidt Easyflow 9000 refills are manufactured by Schmidt in Germany.
