The INK V2 pens were professionally coated with Cerakote Stormtrooper White H-297* with a Mil thickness of 2-3. This is a brilliant white with the highest rated hardness for ceramic coatings. The Trooper INK V2 Rollerball pens have small cosmetic flaws predominantly dings and dents to the underlying aluminum material where chips were caught during machining. The Cerakote was applied over this and therefore these dents and dings are visible under the paint. There may also be light spots in the Cerakote where the coverage was not complete or where one section had more build-up than the other. We’ve used stainless steel clips and heavy tumbled grips to finish off this pen as well as stainless steel fasteners. Ships with a Pilot G2 refill in black.

The INK V2 is made from 6061-T aluminum on our CNC lathes and Swiss machining centers, in Mesa, Arizona. Cerakote is outsourced to an applicator in Mesa, Arizona. Pilot refills are made in Japan.

*Cerakote is a temperature-cured, spray-on ceramic coating that is used in a variety of industries including automotive, defense, outdoors, and sports. While Cerakote has been tested and rated at the highest levels of hardness, corrosion resistance, flexibility, and heat; it is not nearly as durable as anodize. Like all coatings, Cerakote can and will naturally wear when carried against objects of a similar or greater hardness than the Cerakote. Cerakote can chip or crack if dropped onto hard surfaces. Be advised this surface finish will wear over time, and is not as resistant to wear or damage as our standard anodize.
