Description

We love working with Delrin even though it can be a fussy material, especially black Delrin. Even though it is very durable,  polished Delrin loves to show off the tiniest scratch as if a spotlight was being shone down on just that scratch. It’s much easier for us to tumble the black Delrin and create a uniform scuffed finish that hides any scratch or small imperfection. When we get the chance to sell some polished black Delrin pens, we jump on it and that’s what we have here.

The Black Delrin & Natural Pocket Modal Special Release features the new Pocket Modal pen in machined, polished black Delrin with a new anodizing technique. The Delrin looks and feels incredible in it’s natural machined state with just a minor polish to ensure uniformity. With our new anodizer comes new colors and finishes, one of which is Natural Type III with bright dip, which is not something we thought possible. The Natural Type III hardcoat anodize is something we began experimenting with last year on pens, but in the matte finish. With bright dip, the Natural Type III takes on a shiny, grey color that is very close in shade to polished titanium. It’s a unique look and contrasts wonderfully on the Black Delrin Pocket Modal pens. This is a small batch Special Release with a test batch of clips in Natural Type III with bright dip; it’s unlikely we will release another batch of pens like this until next year at the earliest. When you check out, you’ll be prompted to select from a variety of refill options to customize this Modal to your writing preferences.
