After designing and manufacturing multiple keychains, door pushers, and multi-tools we decided to try our hand at an actual pry bar. Rather than the traditional rectangle of flat metal, we chose the same rod stock we use for our pens. Our shop foreman, went about designing something he found comfortable and then programmed our CNC mills. The result is not your standard pry bar.
Immensely comfortable and incredibly durable, the TKO Pry Bar is our pocket tool machined from grade 5, 6AL-4V titanium rod stock. During a multi-step machining process, we mill the front pry area to a point for quick-and-easy “prying”, then we mill some designs on the back end to give it panache, and finally we ported the entire length of the pry bar to decrease weight and increase airflow. These unique details make the TKO massively more aerodynamic than your standard pry, plus they look cool. A flat has been milled to attach our stainless steel pocket clip, so you can easily carry the TKO around with you. We’ve decided to heavy tumble the finished TKO Pry Bars to ensure they have a uniform grip, but also the tumbled finish provides a better surface for your hand to grip just in case you’re super sweaty from all the heavy prying you’re doing outdoors, or on the side of a mountain, or at the bottom of the ocean.
